Gospel Centres International (previously known as Nairobi Gospel Centre) was founded in 1991 by our General Overseers, Rev. Charles and Nelly Mulema in Nairobi Kenya in East Africa. Called to; fulfil the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ with excellence, GCI met for the first time at the Central YMCA hostel, later on moved to a restaurant housed at Harambee Cooperative Plaza, before relocation to our current location at Embakasi in the eastern part of the city of Nairobi. By God’s grace GCI has grown from a handful of people then, to a congregation with a membership attendance of over 4000 people.
With the mandate to evangelize the world, GCI has a vision to plant churches in the 47 counties of Kenya by the year 2030. and a church in as many nations of the world as our Lord Jesus Christ will enable us to do before his return.
Whether preaching the gospel, discipling believers, raising leaders, planting and developing churches, using local or modern technology, we endeavor to advance and enhance God’s kingdom and make a difference in our community and the world over in our generation.
Our purpose has been; first to proclaim the gospel, disciple believers to Impact the world around them, and empower the leadership. Secondly to make gospel efforts in the unreached and spiritually neglected areas and people groups by penetrating them, identifying potential leaders, assisting in leadership development, and in church planting initiatives. These efforts have seen GCI plant 10 churches spread across different counties in Kenya in the past few years, with several others ready to launch.
Through partnership with others of like mind, we are on path with our mission of; “fulfilling the great commission with excellence” We also endeavor to empower harvest efforts by developing strategic partnerships with and among gospel minded individuals, leaders, ministries, and organizations for the purpose of serving and strengthening one another, empowering the GCI vision, and expanding the kingdom of God.
